Dear friends across India and the world,
We're all feeling the shock of the awful attacks in Mumbai. All our hearts go out to the victims and their families.
The attacks were aimed at our people, our prosperity and our peace. But their top target was something else: our unity. If these attacks cause us to turn on each other in hatred and conflict, the terrorists will have won. They know that hatred and chaos feed on division. They also know they are radical extremists, and their only hope of reaching society as a whole is by turning the rest of us against each other.
Let's deny them that victory. We're launching a message to extremists on all sides and all our political leaders, one that will soon be published in newspapers across India and Pakistan. The message is that these tactics aren't working, that we're more united than ever, united in our love and support to each other, and determined to work together to stop violent extremism. If millions of people sign it, our message will be unmistakable, click below to sign it and please forward this email widely:

It's time to speak out, let's do it together.
Thanks

Your sentiments are well taken. I share your anger and frustration. But parimal! Don’t you think that your vehement and fervent vocal position against terrorism, which runs counter to the content and style of your past politics, is enough to tell that you are rapidly veering towards becoming 'son of soil' leaving all claims and pretensions of your old ideas far behind. If you have still some hesitation in calling yourself a nationalist, I have a ready term- 'son of soil'- to offer you, which will save you from every discomfiture.
In changed scenario (of course, changed scenario needs reading between the lines. It is not attributed to Bombay attacks only. I hope that Parimal! You can easily understand changed scenario), I call upon you to assume leadership of sons of soil like me. The term 'son of soil' is capable to accommodate everything that you may have stood for and everything that you may stand for in future.
The rich and mighty of India have, first time, directly felt heat of terrorism. Hopefully terrorism will, no longer, remain just a matter of fashionable discussion for them. It seems that elites of India are, now, sailing on the same boat with commoners. If terrorism becomes a daily life issue in their lives too, the state could be expected to act more seriously and decisively. I hope that these attacks on the 'landmarks of Indian prosperity' will finally ensure some relief, though unintended, to always terror-hit common Indians. We may witness a new version of 'trickle down'.
